Dear Lion  Families,

What an exciting week we have had at Leander High School! Just this week, our Varsity Volleyball team secured their first district victory, our Band, Colorguard, Blue Belles put on our first halftime show of the year and our Cheerleaders kept our fans on their feet during our games against Killeen Ellison.  Teachers in the classroom were getting to know kids and beginning their first units of study.  We are so proud and excited to have our students back on campus and can’t wait to see what week 2 brings. Please check our website for more information.

Closed Campus:

Leander ISD campuses are considered “closed.”  Students may not leave without permission from a parent during the school day, including their lunch period.

Grade Level Meetings begin this week:

Near the beginning of each grading period administrators and/or counselors will be meeting with each of the grade levels to give important grade-level specific information during one of their PRIDE times.  The first of these meetings will occur next week in the PAC.

Supplies:

Students should have received a course syllabus, by now in each of their classes.  This will give you an overview of each course as well as supplies. If you haven’t yet seen it yet, you should see them by the end of week 2.

Dress Code:

LISD Dress Code will be followed and administrators and teacher will begin enforcing during week 2. Please remember that students may not wear hats in the building with the exception of some Spirit Days.  Please read the attached document for more information. Dress-Code_1718.pdf

Drop Off/Student Parking:

Parents may drop off students at the main entrance or at the back near the portables (this area has been restriped due to the removal of portables).  Drop off will be very busy the first few days.  Please note that this year the mini-loop near athletics will not be a drop off point for our students during arrival times. All traffic is being asked to take the loop near the front entrance. We are hoping this helps relieve traffic flow concerns.

Students must get a parking pass from the attendance window at lunch during the first week of school.  Student parking passes are $40/year and can be obtained in the AP office

Lunch Options:

Students are welcome to bring their own lunch to school. Parents can bring lunch for their students ONLY. This should only be done on a special occasion. Students/Parents interested in purchasing lunch can bring cash or make online payments by visiting food service on our district website.  School lunches for students cost $2.70; breakfast is also available for $1.60. Have your ID memorized or easily accessible.
