Facts about the class:
German I teaches you basic understanding and communication and speaking
skills of the German language. You will learn how to say hello and talk about
your hobbies and interests. You will learn how say your ABC's in German and
to name certain objects like clothes and food items. You will also learn
how to tell time, create a celebrity family booklet, and discuss the German
school system.
As you move up to German II your language and writing skills
advance. You learn how to ask more detailed questions and
how to have short conversations with people. You learn about
the food culture of Germany along with how to order and eat
at restaurants. You will also learn more about technical
aspects of the language in order to master your writing skills.
In German III you will learn how to speak more naturally.
You will be assigned various projects that will incorporate
your ability to speak naturally. You will speak fluently
at this point and be able to express yourself in various
ways.
In German IV and AP and IB you will master your German skills
in reading, writing and speaking. You will learn how teenagers
blog and be able to communicate with them via the Internet.
You will be able to express your opinions in essay and aural
form fluently and naturally. You will be taught in order
to succeed in the AP and IB exams.
