French Class Purpose

  • The French program focuses on the student's ability to use the language in meaningful situations.
  • The primary emphasis is on speaking, listening, reading, and writing as well as cultural understanding.
  • There is no prerequisite.
  • Students may continue to French 2, 3 and 4 after successful completion of French 1.
 
What will we learn in French class
French 1:
A summary in the form of 100 facts
First Semester Projects
Second six weeks: Construct a 3-D model representative of a monument in Paris.

Third six weeks: Create a PowerPoint presentation of the art from French Impressionists.
 
How will we support student learning of French using the Internet?
The students will link to the following site that offers options that enable students to experience the French speaking world via the internet. For each chapter, there are activities, games and quizzes. In addition, an enrichment section offers students an opportunity to visit websites related to the theme of the chapter.
